Georgia’s gun laws are broken. We’re calling on state lawmakers to enact these simple, sensible gun laws in order to protect all Georgians:

    • Conduct mandatory background checks on all potential gun buyers

    • Implement measures to crack down on illegal gun trafficking

    • Remove guns from bars, churches, schools and airports

Georgia’s current gun laws are so extreme that they even protect armed felons in possession of an illegal firearm and don’t require gun owners to file a report if a gun is lost or stolen.

The effects of these laws, written by national lobbying groups, are clear:

Every year in the U.S, people with guns kill more than 30,000 Americans and gun deaths are on track to exceed traffic fatalities this year.

Georgia’s ‘guns everywhere’ law, which was snuck through by lawmakers in the final hours of the 2014 legislative session, makes the state and the rest of the country more dangerous.

Tell Gov. Deal and our lawmakers to support the safety of all Georgians by passing sensible gun legislation in Georgia.
